WHAT WE DO

Data Analytics

  • Develop comprehensive Drug Trend and Expenditure analytics, reports, tools, and/or frameworks to simplify data related to controlling drug spend (including all associated factors and inputs).
  • Analyze and perform root cause analyses of healthcare claims and investigate potential operational and clinical opportunities.
  • Leverage machine learning to develop programs and algorithms that maximize effectiveness and improve experience within existing and new programs. 

Actuarial Strategy

  • Leverage healthcare expertise, advanced analytics, and predictive modeling to create business solutions and tools.
  • Conduct drug spend forecasts to estimate budget impact and help support informed decision making.
  • Support risk mitigation efforts by providing estimated current and future spend, as well drug and rebate models to provide further insights.

Drug Trend Solutions & Pharmacy Program Strategy

  • Create initiatives that facilitate cost savings and/or revenue generation for clients and partners.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of advanced pharmacy programs and develop and implement cost savings programs and strategies.
  • Highlight data and results that are insightful, actionable, and enhance interactions between Abarca and its partners.

Pricing & Underwriting Strategy

  • Develop, set, and maintain pricing strategies for internal and external clients—including negotiating best-in-class network and rebate contracts.
  • Build tools using Python, SQL, and VBA that automate complex analytic processes and empower the Drug Value Strategies team to launch and support new strategic initiatives.
  • Create and manage formulary coverage strategies that are financially advantageous and clinically applicable.
  • Develop attractive pricing bids that maximize financial revenue and mitigate risk.

Business Development & Sales

  • Build relationships with payors and consultants in order to develop strategies for a seamless and personalized healthcare experience.
  • Serve as the liaison between the marketplace and our partners to ensure Abarca’s products and services are supporting client needs.
  • Elevate Abarca’s visibility in the industry by attending conferences, speaking at events, and pursuing other opportunities, as appropriate.

Clinical Strategy & Services

  • Develop new clinical programs aligned with healthcare industry trends that ensure the quality of services provided, guarantee client satisfaction, and improve the health of the members.
  • Evaluate coverage determination requests.
  • Educate clients and pharmacies on newly approved drugs and other clinical trends.
